Questioning the purpose of saving flows Pay
Institute of Contemporary Economics Research (IREC) has published 13 January 2010 a research report on the political economy of pension funds in Quebec, which was produced by four CAFCA researchers. Pension funds, as we know, financial vehicles are decisive in shaping the national economic space, including through investment strategies and recovery circuits on which people pay that savings flows are capitalized.
If the primary purpose of the report was to provide an overview of the financial and regulatory structures of pension funds in Quebec since the 2008 financial crisis, it is more fundamentally problematized the lack of information regarding decisions of investment and the investment strategies of these financial players. This blind spot is obviously laudatory, as far as the purpose of salary savings flows is a fundamental political issue: rather than serving to financial class and deconstruct all totalities viable economic leverage these could be a political takeover made to serve purposes that are more respectful of nature, economies and human societies.
This research fits well both in a debate on the objectives of the economy, Quebec has recently crystallized around the "mission" of the Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec, and to both in empirical studies that seek broader document the role of these organizations in the financial restructuring of the relationship between finance and industry.
