ERIC LACOMBE EXPOSE A LA GALERIE LAZAREW

exhibition at the Galerie Eric Lacombe Lazarew (Paris)

From 03 March to 19 March 2011 Opening Thursday, March 3, 2011 to 18.30 in presence of the artist.

"The flesh color is the world of forms that anxiety is that of interiority: a gap, a gap and, perhaps more, a wound. That's why Eric Lacombe figures are not portraits - but the representation of a wounded soul struggling against what would make his death a sign of identity. Like the poet Pessoa was the first, was able to make its break point of departure for a gallery of anti-portraits (of heteronymous), and if the works of Eric Lacombe tried to show us that Man is not a unity but a compound of forces fighting against each other to say, if only temporarily, their fragile sovereignty. "
Frederic Charles Baitinger, February 2011

Eric Lacombe

Born in Lyon in 1968, painter and graphic designer, he leads us into a world between fantasy and thaumaturgy.

Characters tortured, disfigured faces without mouths sometimes, we try to deliver a message from within shouting to us to decipher it according to our imagination.

perfect curves finely made as clear and precise snapshot of our worst nightmares. His characters take us to the depths of existential malaise. And it is precisely this unease that pushes our thinking, that makes us want to know more, feel closer to his world both bleak and disturbing, magical and terrifying.

melancholic atmosphere or dark, be strange to look Sadly, the characters who lived and who always tell us something, so entering the world of Eric Lacombe. "I like freaks, people who are not in the standard, which are considered" ugly ". These people affect me more than others because they are singular. I grow this concept of difference" . The subjects represented are often undefined and asexual, the works are untitled, everything is done to avoid direct reception: "People see what they want to see." But if you look longer on the details, then grabbed all the minutiae of the composition. "All these people I represent, they are like the mirror of my moods ".

" In the underground of the mind, the ghosts of people believed to sacrifice the ridiculous normality. Eric Lacombe dig holes in the body narcissistic, and these flaws vital It throws a bridge to the cruel unsaid of existence " Christian Noorbergen , February 2011

GALERIE Lazarew

Opened in October 2010, the gallery is devoted primarily to Lazarew urban art to which Alexander believes passionately Lazarew.

The gallery has hosted the first collection Personal Alexander Lazarew street art, love of art and culture since time immemorial.

From mid-December to late January's canvases Patrick Pinon (PP said) and Rafael Gray took possession of the gallery walls. These two artists have been friends forever, pass through their works their emotions from the street, their artistic visions of the urban universe. They can deal with different subjects but always in the aesthetics and technique flirting with the world of the street: bright colors, stencil, collage.

Since February 3 is an artist from Benin Rafiy Okefolahan, who has taken over. His canvases gestures and bold colors let reflected his sensitivity and atmosphere of its origins, streets that inspired it and where he works. They evoke his culture, man, woman, life and death, voodoo.

The artists represented in the gallery are not chosen for their fame but by favorite aesthetic and human, in chance encounters.

The idea is to share with the public the excitement and enthusiasm born of these encounters with the artists and their works.

Lazarew and ERIC LACOMBE

Thus it was decided that the work of Eric Lacombe would be exhibited at the Galerie Lazarew, although less clearly related to urban art: it causes the surprise upsets and fascinates. One has the impression of feeling like a hidden force to emerge from his works to touch the one who observes the depths of his soul.

Paintings and drawings by Eric Lacombe, carefully made, revealing the inner torments of the artist, beyond the possibilities of language and human understanding.
